AXYS Technologies Inc, Sidney, BC

Software developer co-op September 2015-December 2015

AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS) is an ISO 9001-2008 registered Canadian company with over 40 years’ experience in the Design, Manufacture and Deployment of remote environmental monitoring systems worldwide. AXYS applies its extensive knowledge and experience to marine, freshwater, offshore wind resource assessment, and land-based monitoring systems that measure aquatic, oceanic and atmospheric parameters.

I worked as a Software Developer for programming controllers in RESTFUL API with C# for data extraction from the sever present in Azure cloud. I used off shore environmental data such as windspeed, wave height and sea water temperature for implementing meaningful graphs using highcharts that can be displayed in the AXYS web portal. Additionally, I used JQuery and AJAX for web development and worked in an agile software development environment.

BC Environmental Assessment Office

Junior Software developer co-op January 2017-September 2017

The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is a neutrally administered office that is required by law to undertake rigorous, thorough reviews of major projects in British Columbia. These reviews provide significant opportunities for Aboriginal groups, government agencies and the public to influence the outcome of environmental assessments by providing input on the potential for environmental, economic, social, heritage and health effects from a proposed project.

As a Junior software developer, I was working on multiple government web applications developed using MEAN stack. One of the largest projects was EPIC (Environemental Assessment Office Project Information Collaboration) web app. My background in computer science and experience as a software developer gave me deep insight into the software development processes. I have discovered and fixed major bugs and defects in the EPIC web application. Moreover, I have gained experience implementing new functionalities using Angular.js. My interest and passion towards DevOps has helped to gain invaluable experience working in Openshift cloud platform.

I also participated in business area analysis and business systems design projects. Moreover, I ensured data quality and integrity by analyzing processing logs and system reports and worked with users to identify and resolve common errors and omissions.

I new friends!
